Saturday - LONDON DAY FREE You will have a Big Bus pass for a panoramic tour of London, plus an unforgettable London cruise. We suggest the London Eye. One of the newest and most popular attractions in London, this 400 foot tall Ferris wheel along the banks of the Thames River is one of several landmarks that can be seen, including Big Ben, Parliament, Tower Bridge, and Buckingham Palace. (CB)

Did you know you can go inside the Wellington Arch? I didn’t. The view of the Horse Guards parade is particularly good from here and from Apsley House, across the road, Wellington Arch - Wellington Arch is topped by the largest bronze sculpture in England. Set in the heart of Royal London at Hyde Park Corner, Wellington Arch is a landmark for Londoners and visitors alike and a great addition to a memorable day out in London. It was originally commissioned as a grand outer entrance to Buckingham Palace and moved to its present site in 1882. For glorious panoramas over London’s Royal Parks and the Houses of Parliament, take the lift to the balconies just below the spectacular bronze sculpture surmounting the arch. The balconies also offer unique views of the Household Cavalry, passing beneath on their way to and from the Changing of the Guard at Horse Guards Parade. Inside the Arch, three floors of exhibits tell its fascinating history.

Touros StonehengeSunday - STONEHENGE/BATH/WALESStonehenge is the most famous of the great prehistoric monuments of the British Isles. Stonehenge is in the form of a circle of massive stones dating from the Bronze Age. Then, we see the medieval village of Lacock, owned by the National Trust, and the setting for Emma and Pride and Prejudice. We continue to the beautiful Georgian city of Bath, providing visitors with a vivid picture of life in Roman Britain almost 2,000 years ago. Nearby is enchanting Tintern Abbey, on the Welsh side of the River Wye. Thanks to Wordsworth, Tintern is one of Britain's best known monasteries. The church itself is graceful and delicate, with majestic arches and a beautiful traceried rose window. Stay in Cheltenham, known for elegance and gentility, with its tree lined walks, exclusive shops and graceful Regency architecture. (CB)

Shop signs EnglandMonday - COTSWOLDS/STRATFORD/CHESTER Drive up through the pretty villages of the Cotswolds, a gentle rural landscape of classic English countryside, ancient Anglo Saxon settlements and old medieval towns and villages. In Shakespeare's home town, Stratford upon Avon, with its half timbered Elizabethan architecture, we see Anne Hathaway's Cottage, a picturesque thatched home. We have time at leisure to explore this delightful town with its ancient houses and unusual crafts and antique shops. We end our day in the Roman city of Chester. No city in Britain is richer in archeological and architectural riches than Chester. One of it's specialties is the "Rows", a double row of shops one on top of the other, dating from 1485. Romans arrived here in AD70, and Chester is riddled with Roman buildings and walls. Chester is the only English town still encircled by a medieval wall. (B)

Lake DistrictTours ends in EdinburghTuesday - LAKE DISTRICT/EDINBURGHDrive through the Lake District, for stunning views of lakes, gentle hills and valleys, and a favorite haunt of poets and painters, including Beatrix Potter and Wordsworth.. Perfectly kept cottages trimmed with fuschia hedges, black and white cows, and butter golden gorse dot the hillsides. Drive through the Lowlands, the turning point where Scotland breaks away from the English counties to Scotland's capital Edinburgh. (B)
