game of cricket and its national obsession with the weather. Day 1 - Thu: Depart U.S. for London Welcome
aboard your overnight flight to London. Day 2 - Fri: London Arrival & Leisure Time Land in London and transfer to your hotel by independent coach transfer. The remainder of the day is at leisure so that you may rest or do some sightseeing on your own. There are exciting places to discover from traditional attractions such as the British Museum or the Tate Gallery to the modern London Eye. In the evening meet your guide and fellow travelers over a welcome drink. Day 3 - Sat: London Touring Start your day with a visit to the Tower of London to see ravens, Beefeaters, the Traitors Gate, the White Tower and the magnificent Crown Jewels. Then drive through the city center to see the main sights and streets. Pass the Houses of Parliament with Big Ben, nearby Westminster Abbey and bustling Piccadilly Circus. The afternoon and evening are free. (CB) Day 4 - Sun: Blenheim Palace
& Cotswolds A gentle rural landscape of classic English countryside,
ancient Anglo-Saxon settlements and old medieval towns and villages. Visit
Blenheim Palace, residence of the Dukes of Marlborough, and the birthplace of
Winston Churchill, his cousin. It is the greatest building of the English
Baroque style. It contains priceless treasures of art and charming Water
Terrace Gardens. Drive through the Cotswolds, a delightful hilly region with
honey-colored stone houses along winding lanes and stop for a look around one
of the villages. Some of the loveliest towns in all England are located in the
Cotswolds. Stop in Stratfordupon- Avon for a browse around the town and
continue to Whitchurch. (CB, D) Day 5 - Mon: Chester & Lake District Take a walking tour of Chester to see the medieval city walls and Chester Cathedral. Drive through the Lake District for stunning views of lakes, gentle hills and valleys. Magnificent lakes, fells and mountains border the winding roads in this area loved by poets, writers and painters, and immortalized by William Wordsworth. Some of the most dramatic scenery in England is here. Perfectly kept cottages trimmed with fuschia hedges, black and white cows and bulls, and butter-golden gorse dot the hillsides. Stop in Grasmere before continuing into Scotland and stop at the Moffat Woollen Mills. Drive to Edinburgh where this evening you will enjoy a lively Scottish Cabaret. (B, D) Day 6 - Tue: Edinburgh Highlights Tour Edinburgh city center to see the medieval town and the Georgian New Town. Travel along the Royal Mile to Edinburgh Castle for a guided tour and enjoy great scenic views over the city. The afternoon is free for independent sightseeing or shopping. On departures from July 31 to August 14 watch the Edinburgh Military Tattoo(B) Day 7 - Wed: Stirling Castle & Glen Coe Visit Stirling Castle, which has been prominent throughout Scottish history. Mary, Queen of Scots, spent some years there. Drive through the scenic region of the Trossachs, across the haunting Rannoch Moor and through the majestic scenery of Glencoe to the bustling fishing town of Oban. (B, D) Day 8 - : Loch Lomond & Glasgow Drive through
wonderful Highland scenery and stop in the planned town of Inveraray, built
between 1753 and 1776. Cruise on Loch Lomond to admire delightful views before
driving into Glasgow for a short orientation tour. (B, D) Day 9 - Depart Glasgow for Home Your tour ends with a group transfer to arrive at Glasgow Airport by 7:00 or 9:00 am.
