Back at your hotel, join your fellow Scotish tour travelers for a welcome drink before dinner is served. (D) Day 3: Loch Lomond & Loch Ness Cruise Drive alongside the lovely Loch Lomond. Its history of Vikings and brigands, its islets and mountains are as romantic and glamorous as the song itself. Continue through the craggy mountains of Glencoe. Stop at Spean Bridge Woollen Mills and take a short cruise on Loch Ness to admire enchanting scenic views before continuing to Nairn. unfolds ahead of us - first Loch Lochy, then Loch Oich and finally Loch Ness.

The tour of Mull takes us to Glen More and along the banks of Loch Scridain to Fionnphort, where we join the ferry for Iona. It was here in 563 that St Columba landed to found a monastery and bring Christianity to Scotland. Many early Scottish Kings are buried here, including Macbeth. The sense of peace and history that pervades the island will remain with us as we retrace our steps to Oban. Day Three After a relaxed breakfast enjoy
some time in Oban before joining your motorcoach for the journey south. We
travel to Kilchurn Castle, which stands guard at the head of Loch Awe before
making our way to Inveraray. A pretty town that was built by the Duke of Argyll
on the banks of Loch Fyne, Inveraray exudes 18th Century charm, as we will
discover. A scenic drive from Loch Fyne brings us to the Argyll Forest Park and
the dramatic Rest and be Thankful mountain pass before reaching the
gentle shores of Loch Lomond once again. Soon we will arrive in Glasgow and
then Edinburgh. Inverness. Day Three A day of scenic beauty as we travel to one of the
remotest areas of Scotlandthe Applecross Peninsula. Our journey commences
with a drive across the Black Isle to the village of Achnasheen. Then the
dramatic climb over the Bealach nam Bo, which means the Pass of the Cattle, in
Gaelic. The Pass is the third highest road in Scotland and climbs to over 2,000
feet! On our arrival in Applecross we can spend some quality time enjoying the
spectacular seascapes or discovering the sad tale of the highland clearances at
the local heritage centre. In this area wildlife aboundsnature lovers
look out for red deer, pine martens (one of the rarest of British mammals) and
otters. Day Four There is an excursion to nearby Culloden Moor followed
by free-time in Inverness before joining your motorcoach for our tour south.
