| . 5 night tour of Ireland - Irish Fling On our short tour of Ireland you will experience old-world Irish charm and elegance while staying in medieval castles and Irish hotels. On this tour you will stay in Ireland's most lively towns and experience traditional Irish culture. map Day 1: Depart U.S. for Shannon Day 2: Arrival & Bunratty When
the night sky around you begins to lighten, peer down through the clouds from
the windows of your transatlantic jet. IRELAND! Travel to to Bunratty. Check
into your hotel, located beside Bunratty Castle and in the evening head to
Bunratty Castle for a jolly medieval-style dinner. (D) Day 3: Flying Boat Museum & Killarney Drive to Foynes to visit the Flying Boat Museum on the River Shannon. Journey into County Kerry to Killarney and check into your hotel. Pass tiny, storybook villages, where thatched roofed cottages are surrounded by postage stamp pastures, and ancient castles abound. Butter-golden gorse blankets the stone-framed green fields. The air is scented by the flavor of peat fires. Nearly every bend in the road affords gorgeous vistas of sky, land and water. (B, D) Day 4: Jaunting Car & Muckross House Take a horse-drawn jaunting car ride to Muckross House for a tour of the mansion. Drive to the colorful town of Kenmare and up through Molls Gap, a wonderful vantage point on the Ring of Kerry before returning to Killarney. Distant mountains fill the horizon and guide you to the coast where gentle waves lap at rocky inlets sheltering scattered villages, and whitewashed cottages dot the landscape. (B, D) Day 5: Cobh & Waterford Crystal Drive to the Blarney
Woollen Mills. Visit the pretty port of Cobh and relive the immigration
experience of your ancestors at the Cobh Heritage Centre. Nestling between
hillside and sea is Cobh, one of the most picturesque towns in Cork. Many of
the ships that sailed to America departed from Cobh, and the Centre documents
the hopes and aspirations of those who traveled from here. Because so many
Irish emigrants left from Cobh, the city became synonymous with emigration.
Continue to Waterford to tour the Waterford Crystal Factory and see how crystal
pieces are created. Waterford is Ireland's oldest city, founded in 852 by the
Vikings. The city is surrounded by water and the medieval city walls are still
visible. Reginald's tower dominates the skyline and is more than 1,000 years
old. After dinner, join a local guide for a stroll. (B, D) Day 6: Medieval Kilkenny & National Stud Stop in the medieval city of Kilkenny before visiting the Irish National Stud and Japanese Gardens. Check into Dunboyne Castle Hotel and enjoy a farewell dinner with your group. (B, D) Day 7: Dublin to U.S.A. Take a group transfer to Dublin Airport to arrive at 6:00 am, 9:00 am or 12:00 noon.
