Navy & Notre Dame last played in Dublin in 1996, a game the Irish won 54-27. Thursday Aug 30- DEPART FROM HOME
Your vacation begins the moment you board your flight. Destination: DUBLIN.

Friday Aug 31- DUBLIN Arrive by 10AM and join our Dublin tour. Visit Trinity College Library, containing the famous Book of Kells. See the Bank of Ireland - Ireland's first Parliament, St. Patrick's Cathedral and the Georgian doors of Dublin. Visit the Guinness Brewery, where you will taste the famous stout. Welcome dinner this evening. (D)

Notre Dame Navy Game in IrelandSaturday Sep 1 THE GAME NOTRE DAME FIGHTING IRISH vs NAVY MIDSHIPMEN The football game will be held in Dublin's new Aviva Stadium, a four level state-of-the-art facility with all 50,000 seats under cover. This new stadium is located in a scenic residential area just outside of Dublin city center. The intimate Aviva Stadium is also much smaller than the U.S. stadiums the schools typically play at - offering an experience unlike any other state-side. The novelty of the game, coupled with Aviva Stadium’s relatively small seating capacity (50,000) should make this a very difficult ticket for travellers and locals alike. Navy-Notre Dame To Kick At 2:00 PM Dublin Time. (B)

Kilkenny CastleSunday Sep 2 -KILKENNY Enjoy the relaxed pace of Ireland, known for its bogs and turf fires, rich farmlands and scenic countryside. Travel through the Curragh, the horse breeding center of Ireland. Kilkenny, with its cobbled streets, is one of the finest examples of an Irish medieval town. You visit Kilkenny Castle. Today is your opportunity to meet the Irish, by staying in a local family home. Time free for exploring on your own. (B)

Irish countryside Monday Sep 3 - BLARNEY/COBH/KILLARNEY This morning you take the scenic route to Cobh, originally a small fishing village. Cobh was the departure point for many Irish immigrants in the 19th century, and is associated with the loss of the Titanic. Visit Blarney, with a chance to kiss "The Stone". Travel through landscapes of the rarest green, where herds of black and white cows peek from every hill on the way to Killarney.(B, D)

{short description of image}Tuesday Sep 4- RING OF KERRY EXCURSION

Bunratty BanquetWednesday Sep 5- ADARE/SHANNON
Visit Muckross Traditional Farm for tea and scones, where you will see villagers practicing ancient farming techniques. Then travel to Adare, a town of thatched cottages. Optional and highly recommended: A night like no other. Medieval banquet at Bunratty Castle. You'll be transported back in time as you sip the traditional mead in the great banquet hall and don bibs to eat authentic recipes with your fingers! Madrigal singers, and musicians bring the era to life.(B)
Dromoland interiorOptional Upgrade: Stay at Dromoland Castle. Dromoland Castle is a spectacular place to spend either your last night's stay if you are flying into or out of Shannon Airport. Dromoland was the ancestral home of the Lords Inchiquin, direct descendants of Brian Boru, high king of Ireland. It is one of the finest examples of a baronial residence. Up the grand staircase are found the hotel's premier rooms and luxurious suites and a portrait gallery of past incumbents of the estate. Jacket and tie for gentlemen are required after 7pm in the elegant, formal dining room and the book lined bar where guests often settle after dinner to join in the singing of popular Irish ballads. Fishing, horse riding, and bird shooting can be arranged nearby. The golf course meanders around the castle and is a challenging par 71 measuring over 6500 yards. The Egon Ronay guide named the dining room as the best restaurant in Ireland.
