We set off from London in the morning and head to Oxford to begin our spellbinding day of discovery! Our visit to Oxford begins with an hour's walking tour of this world famous University city with a professional guide. Founded in 1167, Oxford is England's oldest university. On the walking tour, we'll walk past some of the most famous university buildings, cloisters and quadrangles, explore the back streets and wander across cobblestone squares, all the while standing in the shadows of the famous 'dreaming spires'. Our guided walking tour will take you into the heart of this land of hallowed academia, where you'll have a chance to see the Bodleian Library, the Radcliffe Camera, Sheldonian Theatre and selected colleges. Some of the university colleges our tour will take us past include Christ Church, Merton, Oriel, Corpus Christi, Magdalen, University, Queens, All Souls, Hertford, Trinity, Balliol and St John's. The University has 38 independent, autonomous colleges and we will also pass alongside many others on your tour. We end our visit to Oxford with some free time, a chance for you to soak up the atmosphere and discover Oxford's hidden gems at your leisure before we continue onto the next stop of our tour, Warner Bros. On this small group day trip from London, you will be collected from your hotel between 08.30am and 09.15am, before heading out to Warner Bros. Studio Tour London. Follow in the footsteps of Harry Potter, Ron WeasleyTM and Hermione GrangerTM as you discover authentic film sets and experience the magic of the Harry Potter film series!
After a 60 minute drive we arrive at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter. Your driver will give you your Studio Tour tickets and then the magic begins! Stroll along the famous cobbles of Diagon AlleyTM, see the shop fronts of Ollivander's, Flourish and Blotts, the Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes and Eeylops Owl Emporium. See iconic props from the film series, including Rubeus HagridTM’s motorcycle and the Philosopher's Stone! Explore the Forbidden Forest and rediscover other memorable sets from the film series, including the Great Hall, the GryffindorTM common room, the boys’ dormitory, Hagrid’s hut and the Potions classroom. No visit would be complete without visiting Platform 9 3/4TM, and you’ll have a chance to snap a photo with the trolley on your way to catch the Hogwarts ExpressTM.
You will also have the chance to explore the largest addition to the Studio Tour to date, Gringotts BankTM! Lined by towering marble pillars with three magnificent crystal chandeliers, you will discover costumes and prosthetics belonging to Bogrod, Griphook and many other goblin bankers, as well as inkwells, quills, ledgers and piles of Galleons, Sickles and Knuts littering the goblin tellers’ desks as seen on screen. Enter the Lestrange vault used to store the treasures of Bellatrix Lestrange, including the Sword of Gryffindor and Helga HufflepuffTM’s Cup, one of Lord VoldemortTM’s many Horcruxes. Here, you can have a unique photo opportunity allowing you to step inside the Lestrange vault and surround yourselves with treasure.
After a four hour visit to the Studio Tour, we will return to London, where you will be dropped off at your hotel.
With pick up at your hotel between 09.30 and 10.00am, returning to London at approximately 5-5.30pm.
