Visit one of the region’s most famous attractions: Kylemore Abbey, home to a Benedictine order of Nuns for the past 100 years.  Make sure to visit Ireland’s largest walled gardens  at Kylemore. Embark on a 1.5 hour cruise on the Connemara Lady along the Killary Fjord, Ireland’s natural border between county Galway and county Mayo. Enjoy an Irish coffee on board.  Spend tonight in Galway.

Day 3 Make your way to Ireland’s most iconic natural beauty: the Cliffs of Moher and  unique Burren region.   Stop in quaint Doolin  (a great spot for some food), and then visit the Cliffs of Moher. Stretching along the Atlantic coast, the highest point at O’Brien Tower is 214 meters above sea level. On a clear day, you can see the Aran islands etched on the waters of Galway Bay.  Visit Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, the most complete and authentic mediaeval castle in Ireland. Bunratty Folk Park is a living reconstruction of the homes and environment of Ireland of over a century ago.   Stay in Adare in a traditional Irish country hotel.

castle KillarneyDay 4 Travel to Killarney, with ample time to explore the famous Dingle Peninsula. Described as “the most beautiful place on earth” by National Geographic magazine, much of the peninsula is a Gaeltacht – an area where the Irish continues to be the daily language of the people. Enjoy spectacular sea views, and the rich archaeological heritage, including ancient beehive huts and Gallarus Oratory. Stop in Dingle town, before continuing out to Slea Head, the most westerly part of Ireland. At Dunquin, visit the Blasket Centre and learn about the traditional island life and literary legacy of the unique community who lived on the remote Blasket Islands.  Travel to Killarney, with its quaint laneways and traditional shopfronts.

Jaunting carDay 5  Explore Killarney National Park, a magical and magnificent wilderness and take a traditional horse drawn jaunting car.  Time free to relax or explore quaint Killarney town.  This evening, enjoy some traditional music in a local pub.

Blarney CastleDay 6  We are off to Blarney, known not only for its castle, beautiful gardens, including a fairy garden, but some of the best shopping in Ireland.  Travel through landscapes of the rarest green, where herds of black and white cows peek from every hill. We’re heading to Co. Kildare, where we enjoy a sumptuous afternoon tea at Newbridge.  Enjoy classic afternoon tea with homemade sandwiches, cakes, and scones presented on a vintage tea service before settling in to our castle accommodations at Barberstown Castle this evening.
